The plastic rear covers cut into the paint on most of the L320 models that I have seen at the top and the bottom closest to the hatch. It appears to be a design fault. I have clearance on the bottom when the car is stationary but have paint wear down to the primer in a small spot. The top has no clearance but has only cut into the clear coat. |

mine has cut right through on the bottom mostly there must be some kind of fix ,can repair the paint for it to happen again |

I simply cut a couple of small strips of double sided adhesive 5mm thick high density foam rubber and stuck under lower edge, works perfectly. Can position it to leave same gap as complete lower edge of cover about a 1-2mm gap.

what tape did you use and how did you position it I tried tape but didn,t work at all have to repair the paint there now you would think there would be an easy fix that the d pillar would fit and stay straight ,thanks |

This is all I used, got it of fleabay, been on there 2/3 years now and no marks on paint whatsoever.

I assume one needs to remove the plastic rear cover to fit the rubber strip. |
