I totally agree with you JPR on nearly all what you've said,,The new SVR doesn't stand out from the HSE now,,before when a svr was coming towards you you knew it was a svr,,,now its just ow look another sport. If I was in the market for a svr I would be looking for a low mileage 17/67 plate as opposed to the new my18 model.Probably LR saving money again.

Or get a 18 plate 5.0 supercharged, if you want the petrol and power, the SVR isnt really offering much more now, since the new Sport looks better front and rear., Current

You should have the svr badge above the glovebox, unless it's been removed by urban, see attached pic, i agree with you about the dynamic mode, if you look hard at the dials you will see the shading that follows the rev and speed needles is red, I agree with you they are poor efforts though!

Thanks for your thoughts JPR. I think its more as you have said above, the normal sports are much improved and to the untrained eye look like SVR,s. What about the sound? SVR 2018 in Santorini Black. |

I wonder if JPR's has still got the standard exhaust with just different tips of have Urban fabricated there own exhaust? 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR arrived but now rejected!

Badge issue sorted, regarding exhaust as far as the one on the Urban it sounds a lot more aggressive than my old SVR but i do drive in Dynamic/Sport but its definitely louder and very very raspy, with longer pops and crackles on downshifts. I think it also has maybe something to do witht he fact that on the Urban SVR's the whole rear and front end are purely carbon, so maybe they dont dumb the sound down more? When i get it cleaned this week ill upload all pics so you can see the amount of carbon bits, visible and hidden they put into their cars. But the quality of craftmanship on the tailpipes etc etc is very good.

Exactly, maybe in hindsight the new SVR does look good in certain aspects but the issue is they made the new sport great! If ou look at the old Sport 2013> then the SVR 2015> the SVR just looked so great with its kit. JLR have now diluted this with the loss of brembo and aggressive kit etc I just hope the dont go down the BMW-M or AMG route where you can get SVR/SVO styling and badges on standard cars...... I don't believe Urban change any of the exhaust they just fit new end trims, JPR can you confirm this?

Just run down to look, so it looks like the system is cut and then floats to the Urban style trims, maybe louder because of this? As it now resonates from pipe and not finisher, i dont know but im really happy with the sound! Current

I won't lie, this post actually really helps ease my pain. I cancelled my order for a MY18 SVR and picked up a used MY16 SVR instead a few weeks ago. I'm really happy with the car. I think I had major FOMO with respect to the new tech and new seats and I'm happy to hear the seats aren't really better. The tech/nav/screens can't possibly be worse but still nice to know it's nothing to feel like I'm missing out.

Everyone has there own opinion obviously but for me i like and prefer all the changes that have been made to the new 18 model. I like the look of the new seats, rectangle exhaust trim coloured side skirts, the new 22" wheels are lovely the new lights are years ahead, bonnet vents, new steering wheel. Perhaps they should have still offered Blue callipers but thats about it, so as you see i love the new look but cant comment on the sound but reading the reviews out today they all seem to think it sounds antisocial so all good.
