RRS Standard Stereo

Hi guys,

Just joined your forum. I've never owned a RR but im thinking of buying a RR Sport 2015 or 2016. I'm worried about the reliability and problems they seem to have but still think i will roll the dice and hope i get a good one.

My question is im on the continent and they are not that great at giving full specs. I want a good hifi. If i see the car I am viewing with a meridian hifi is that the 825w unit or better or is the standard hifi meridian as well?

TIA

Steve

Apparently made by Meridian, but in my experience over the years, not much good.

Make sure that you find one with an 825W spec. And good luck!

I have the standard in my L494 and usually I don’t care about sound Systems, but this is really a bad standard System.

I must have old ears but my standard system (8 speakers) is fine from my point of view.

I'm with you Barry. Cant get too excited about sound systems but then the tinnitus and old age have something to do with that. As long as I can get my music from my phone on my car, that's fine. After all you are travelling along in a Range Rover that will not be totally silent - V8 rumbling, suspension joints clonking, seats squeaking etc etc Smile Robin

If I vaguely remember - when reading the specs of my car there were 3 options:

- standard stereo (250w)
- Meridian Surround sound system (825W)
- Meridian Reference system (1700W)

I have the 825W system and its very good (and very loud) - anything better would be a waste (tyre/road/wind noise) SVR with a few bits from Urban and Glohh

Thank you all. The key for me with language barriers was knowing by sight which system it had, this will be harder if the base sound system is badged meridian. I will work it out. Thanks

Thought it might be a good idea to ask you RRS experts to cast your eye over this if you dont mind, does this look oK? Am i less likely to get problems with this v8?

TIA

Yes, in Topix LO LINE AUDIO SYSTEM 400W seems to be the base system (mine has this and is quite ok for my purposes) . BRANDED SURROUND SOUND SYS(L4) would appear to be the next level up. MY15.5 SDV6 HSE Dynamic without the H . Yulong White

Earlier base systems were terrible, later ones from 2016 I think are ok. Certainly the last loan Sport I had was pretty good. 825w Meridian is excellent... best I have had in any car once you have wound the treble back a bit. RRS P460e
