2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 Autobiography Santorini Black

Hi

Can any one tell where this clicking is coming from in this video, what it could it be?

Its a youtube video but I have the exact same clicking on my RRS 3.0 v6 2010

New Fan unit required

Thanks for your reply.

Is there anyway I can tell for sure its the Viscous fan unit by unplugging any plug ?

It normally happens from a cold start, this morning drive 8 miles to a mechanic but the time I got there no noise at all so he couldn't help much but looked around the engine bay.

just seen the video you put up its definitely the same noise, can your remember the cost to replace it?

Sorry no idea on costs as my car was under warranty In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

I will put a spanner in the works and say it’s the auxiliary belt.
When they split/shread a little they sound like that. Mine did on my old 2006 RRS

Sorry UKGuy, you can remove your spanner :rolllaugh
As stated the Viscous ticking is only whilst the engine is cold. If it was the serputine belt, then the noise would be continuios In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

It's definitely not the auxiliary belt as that looks good as new from what I can see.

Had similar noise on a v8 s/c changed belts this week noise has gone, garage said they didn't look too worn

Thank you once again for your help.

Changed the Viscous fan today so far no noise hopefully thats cured it.
