Everyone reckons to avoid the 2.0ltr engined cars as they are seriously under powered. Dealers have huge stocks of them so plenty of low miles pre-reg cars are available too that you can negotiate on. Problem will be what will it be worth when you want to move on if they cannot shift them now? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I’m also thinking of a Velar, got an extended test drive in one on Monday & Tuesday when mine goes in for a service / MOT, Loving the look of the interior, i specced up one on the config and came out around the £77k mark , but I think it’s all relative really, even tho dearer than a RRS HSE, if you spec up an autobiography to roughly the same spec you’re talking over £90k, which I can’t stretch to A base spec Velar is around the £45k mark whereas the sport base model is around the £ 61k mark 2015 HSE SDV6 Scotia Grey, ebony / lunar, colour coded, deployable steps, TV, sliding pano and a few other bits. Now gone 2018 Velar R-Dynamic HSE sdv6 silicon silver |

I looked at the Velar 380P and decided while nice, maybe too small, for me. The young sales lady said a V8SC would be more “me” that’s how I ended up with one Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

Hi RCV. Interesting question. When I saw the Velar in the press when it was first announced I thought mmm, lovely but in the flesh, not so. Haven't been aware of the crankshaft issue on RRS2 till this thread - better do my research as I'm beginning to consider an update from my TDV8.... |
