2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey
The dealer is also saying that the accessories ie Deployable Side Steps, Mud Flaps, Tread Plates are all dealt with by dealer.
Why is it that my original car had everything on when I collected it from Solihull ???
Can anyone comment on this?.
Yes, to collect your car from the factory you or the dealer will have paid some £1500-£2000 for that priviledge, when build was finished your car will have been taken to SVO to be finished to the spec ordered and then taken to the special hand over room for you to take the satin cover off it. Your new car is being delivered to the dealers so they will fit and charge you for the accessories you have asked for. When you collected your first car it had never been as far as your dealership in the first place. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Hi Tim

The first time I picked up the car from Handover Centre as I did not want it going through the transport system, or being covered by some cloth, that may or may not scratch. It was a very moving experience. However the subsequent trauma and lies uncovered, spoilt it all.
This time, I have agreed that it will be collected from the factory, because, I will be taking my guy who spotted all the damage in the first place. He will examine the car prior to hand over and it has been further agreed with JLR that if there is the slightest hint of damage or repair...... It will be staying there...

I think that is only fair in view of the way they tried to treat me ! RRS SVR 2018

I don’t blame you for doing it that way. I had paint issues with my car that I declined to let the supplying dealer repair as they wanted to completely respray several panels - we agreed a financial settlement and I took the car. I’m not a great fan of detailing and as the car came with AutoGlym Lifeshine I have waitied 2.6 years to have the car treated with G Technique Crystal Serum - the car was in the detailer’s bay for 4 days and came out better than I received it new, they had rectified all bar one of the swirling and paint defects from new build. I’m now moving brands in April to a Mini Countryman and I won’t let the dealer’s scratching bay touch the car, it will go straight from the transporter, around the block to the detailers who did the Sport recently - their lead man was formerly the guy who prepped new Minis and was dismissed because he was too caring with new cars.......... I’m also hoping that despite costing half the price of a new RRS that BMW/Mini will have miles better QC at the end of the production line. I haven’t heard of anyone having issues with Mini finishes! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

It is such a shame that we have to take this course of action, with such a Prestige company such as JLR.

It is quite a shame on JLR's part to allow such expensive prestige vehicle to need post delivery detailing and inspection. i'm sure QC were having a nap when mine passed by them

To be honest, living where I do, I actually wonder if it worth getting such an nice as as the standard of driving has deteriorated in the last year or so. Highway Code seems to have gone out of the window and your constantly driving with 360 vision hoping that no one is going to bump into you or jump out of a side road in front of you etc..

The only problem I had with my Mini CooperD was the number plate being Censored !!!! Apart from that it was pristine when I collected it RRS SVR 2018

One part of me thinks that for the best part of £100k, the car should be pretty much perfect. The other part thinks that it's a car deigned for rugged off-road driving with all the potential damage that entails and at 2.2m wide, it's going to get bashed whilst parked anyway; so do a few swirls in the paintwork matter? RRS MY17 SDV6 AB

syl i think you will find if you check back that Nods car had far more damage than a few swirls. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Buckingham Blue

It doesn’t matter how little damage there is when a product is purchased new it should be perfect, if you choose to drive it through a thorny hedge and scratch the life out it on the way home that is your choice as the owner.
A number of years ago I purchased a new Mercedes Vito and when I went to pick it up they had dented the doors fitting additional security locks, when I said I was not accepting delivery the salesman said “ it’s only a van what’s your problem “ I politely pointed out that he could shove the van where the sun don’t shine and if it was his £25k he was spending would he accept it.

SYL

My car will be pampered, but also expected to pull the horse trailer, carry my guns and fishing rods and all the other joyous things you do outdoors.
Having said that she will be in her element at Ascot, Blenheim Goodwood or Silverstone.

My comment was meant for the standard of drivers there seems to be these days, who seem to have little care for other road users.

Anyway,,,, soon be Christmas Rolling with laughter is everyone ready ?

Finally after chasing them, I received this earlier. Something seems a little odd.

Your order #L-100000xxx has been updated to: Processing
Good Morning,

I have checked your order with Land Rover, your vehicle has completed build but is currently on hold at quality check, with an estimated date of delivery to us of 26/01/18 but this date is subject to change. I do believe there has been issues with some of the Range Rover sports failing the quality check and being returned to factory. I have not yet received an update regarding your order other than that is in hold. As soon as I have an update I will come back to you.

Kind Regards"

Cheers
