I don’t blame you for doing it that way. I had paint issues with my car that I declined to let the supplying dealer repair as they wanted to completely respray several panels - we agreed a financial settlement and I took the car. I’m not a great fan of detailing and as the car came with AutoGlym Lifeshine I have waitied 2.6 years to have the car treated with G Technique Crystal Serum - the car was in the detailer’s bay for 4 days and came out better than I received it new, they had rectified all bar one of the swirling and paint defects from new build. I’m now moving brands in April to a Mini Countryman and I won’t let the dealer’s scratching bay touch the car, it will go straight from the transporter, around the block to the detailers who did the Sport recently - their lead man was formerly the guy who prepped new Minis and was dismissed because he was too caring with new cars.......... I’m also hoping that despite costing half the price of a new RRS that BMW/Mini will have miles better QC at the end of the production line. I haven’t heard of anyone having issues with Mini finishes! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

It is such a shame that we have to take this course of action, with such a Prestige company such as JLR.

One part of me thinks that for the best part of £100k, the car should be pretty much perfect. The other part thinks that it's a car deigned for rugged off-road driving with all the potential damage that entails and at 2.2m wide, it's going to get bashed whilst parked anyway; so do a few swirls in the paintwork matter? syl i think you will find if you check back that Nods car had far more damage than a few swirls. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black. |

It doesn’t matter how little damage there is when a product is purchased new it should be perfect, if you choose to drive it through a thorny hedge and scratch the life out it on the way home that is your choice as the owner.

Finally after chasing them, I received this earlier. Something seems a little odd.

It will be one of the 6000 odd cars stuck in a car park then...
