Was lead to believe it was still the V6 diesel, as is currently in the D5/405/494 |

I thought the new Ingenium’s are all “straight” engines to reduce production costs - everything starts with the 4 cylinder engine and they bolt on the additional cylinders as needed? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Isn't the DS a transverse engine installation? If so, fitting an inline 6 will be very tight if not impossible. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I think it’s the discovery van not the DS,,but I could be wrong.

Straight six used to be fitted in Freelander 2, which was similar chassis/floorpan.

No. Discovery, New Defender, Range Rover Sport and Range Rovervare all on tge D7u platform, which is the “north/south” engine and transmission (D8 platform, discovery sport, evoque and I think F-Pace) are in the D8 platform, which is the “East -West” transmission (xF is on tge D7a platform, a less aluminium version of the D7u, also north-south) Straight six version of the ingenium engine has been on the cards for a while, but had to gave more work to take out tge crank whirl issues Just bought a RRS 06 MY HSE TDV6 136,000 miles, to be a second car to my bland, boring Mitsubishi Outlander 68 plate 2.0 petrol 4 |

OP said Disco Sport, hence the transverse question. If he meant FF Disco then fine, i6 would be possible. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I was being a bit of numpty, read the press release too quickly. It referred to Ingenium 2.0 SD and 3.0 TD; I assumed both were Ingenium engines but it seems it is the V6 and in the Disco not DS. I'm busy writing out my 500 lines now

Amazingly the commercial is 3k more than the equivalent with seats ! Given that on a business lease you can get half the VAT back on a standard one anyway you would be saving naff all getting a commercial one over just putting a load liner into a standard one and giving you the option to carry passengers when needs be . |
