Hi I have a 2017 RRS HSE Fuji white with black side skirts. I'm interested in having these painted to match body colour (it was an option when purchasing but didn't take it up). After looking at a number of older threads I asked my dealer about it and he mentioned that the sills are replaced with aluminium ones?! This seems to go against everything I've read online I.e the plastic is just sanded down, primed and painted at the factory. Anyone know if this is true or actually had this done?

I don’t think your dealer knows what he’s on about,,he is probably getting mixed up with sidesteps.

Thanks I'd love to give him the benefit of the doubt by mixing up with side steps but he had previously told me there was no chance of the 2018 RRS getting Velar type interior (this was after i had purchased my car) and that the 2017 HSE didn't come with remote climate control.... has anyone here had the side sills done post purchase? Also thinking about SVR body kit upgrade to stop me going for the 2018 RRS

What do you mean by “sideskirts” - do you mean the “spoilers” on the lower part of the doors/ “sills” or the fixed side steps/ running boards?
The door spoilers are held in place with snap connectors and can be removed, rubbed down, repainted and replaced quite easily, the edges of the sidesteps that you can see under the doors could be repainted too. AFAIK no RRS has side skirts in the normal sense of the phrase. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Hi from your description it'd be the plastic door spoilers which are black on the HSE and extra to be body coloured on the old configurater.
