There are many kits out there that allow you to upgrade the upper tailgate trim on your 2005-2009 RRS, so it mimics the 2012 with the chrome/titanium strip running full width. None of these kits use any genuine parts, so my question is... What differs on the tailgate between the early and late style trims? Has anyone tried fitting a genuine trim to their earlier RRS?

That was exactly my thought And the shut line on the kit puts the chrome/titanium strip above the rear lights rather than between them.

I would want a genuine part if I was to convert

The late ones are a 1 piece tailgate (where as early 2, with opening glass), so doubt its possible to use LR parts.
