The heated seats are electric and on a timed system and they switch off after a set time, so you couldn’t leave them on all day. You can rewrite the temperature range in the CCF file if you have a GAP IID BT Tool or similar. Your dealer should be able to sort that out for you, when on one they can seem hot as standard.

This is interesting because some have actually complained about Autobiography seats not heating quickly and adequately enough. I find mine to be OK. Autobiography spec has "climate" (heated and cooled) front seats as standard and BOTH heating and cooling are achieved by blowing air through the tiny holes in the seats, as opposed to electric heating element. Don't think seats depend on the cabin's climate control temperature as they have their own heating/cooling settings.
As pointed out above, 16MY does not have fuel burning aux heater as standard so remote climate via app or fob is only available if the option was added at new car order time. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top Gone: MY16 RRS2 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic, Carpathian Grey & Santorini Black Sliding Pano/Ebony & Ivory 2 Tone Gone: MY13 RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Black Edition, Orkney Grey/Ivory Gone: MY09 RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE, Santorini Black/Almond |

Waiting very, we were going to get the roof painted black but now we've got it home we quite like it as it is . Great colour for not showing the dirt of our country lanes after years of having black |

The heated seats in my 2014 HSE used to fry my backside in minutes, even on the minimum setting, and were useless as a result. On the other hand, the heated seats on my 2017 AB seem much more subtle which means you can leave them on the lowest setting for the whole journey. Delighted to see also that they've moved the heated seats control out of the infotainment system and incorporated them in the climate control temperature dial, which is where they should have been in the first place |
