USB through AUX

I bought a lead which I can put a memory stick into and then plug into the AUX socket. According to the description, music should play through this way, but it doesn`t. All I get is a low power message on the display! It does mention U disc...no idea what that is so I took a punt. Any ideas?

This is the lead http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-5mm-Male-AUX-A...Swol5Ywkg2 Steve.

Attention:
1. Only work when your car AUX have decode function
2. Only car AUX interface have the function of read U disk can use this kind of line
3. U disk had better not store too much, we suggest LESS THAN 8GB
4. Can NOT work as a charger

Yeah saw that. Mp3 player works through it and it`s only around 2GB of music on the stick. It was the U disc I was wondering about?! Steve.

Yes, but your MP3 player is outputting an analogue audio signal that it has generated from the digital file

This is I presume sending a digital stream that needs decoding into an audio signal. It has no inteeligence and is looking for your Sport to do that work.

Sorry, normally those adapters have a battery in them and the usb is to charge the battery.

Try this one instead, I can't seem to find a link to the one I bought:

Ahhh, just thought, I still couldn`t use a memory stick with one of those. My mp3 player works through AUX but it`s just fiddly to use Rolling Eyes Steve.

That adapter would mean you could play music off your phone (which is what I do). I've fitted a USB port to my car, but it's only for charging, there's no connection between it and the head unit.

Steve

Your requirement was for a way to play a usb stick through your aux jack. If that’s what you still want then this won’t help you.

But if you want Bluetooth music from your phone and phone call functionality then have a look at this.

Kinovo BTC 450

I got one from Amazon (on the recommendation of someone on the forum) and it’s really good. Thumbs Up Robin
