I've got a custom exhaust on my 4.2 when driven normally it's pretty much as quiet as stock, but when you tickle the throttle it gives a nice throaty roar. I've no pics of the exhaust itself, but it only has the swirl box, the snail shell and rear cans have been deleted.

LJRH,,I think the are referring to the resonator box behind the 1st box,,it’s here in the red circle,,I don’t know where they get the saying snail box ,never heard it called that before.im cutting the 1st box & resonator out & see how that sounds,,I’m just waiting for some straight exhaust pipe coming.

It’s been pegged as and affectionately referred to as the ‘snail shell’ because that’s what it looks like, certainly on pre-facelift (not sure if your exhaust is aftermarket or not, based on the image you have shared I would say it is based largely on the fact that it’s stainless). |

That’s not my box,,it’s a pic I got of net but it’s same system as mine but mines not stainless.
