any one heard of the head gasket leaking on the rrs 07 2.7td
dealers told me head gasket never leaks on range rover sport ,only engine blow due to lack of servicing
due to oil
because my rrs is leaking
just wondering

water in bottle ,got to top up every day
been told head gasket anyone heard of this on RRS ??

Very few head gaskets go but there are other parts that leak there is a y shaped piece of plastic at top of engine that has been know do leak have a look on here

Is there more/different exhaust smoke on idle ? e.g grey/white ? This would point to headgasket or EGR's failing

no white smoke, oil nice and new no cream, had head gasket check today the garage put a big tube on the water bottle
with red fluid in, starting engine and the colour went from red to orange
which says head gasket gone in the exhaust side, so I was told !!
now I been told need engine instead of new head gaskets because of the cost
what do you guys on here feel ??

Or EGR coolers

You don't replace one of these engines that runs just because of a coolant leak.

When the EGR coolers fail, this doesn't pressurise the coolant though? or does it?


First need to dis connect coolant pipes from egrs and see if that fixes it

not long had new EGR both side

I will have to book in to garage for this ,pressure is coming from some where unless the new egrs are faulty
car drives fine then hits that spot water comes out from top of cap, heater nice and hot when driving
then cools down when stopped or at tick over
let it sit for a while drives fine
weird , I was hoping the guys on here might have had the same problem

That does sound like a water pump issue with what you described

That what I was thinking
until head gasket test in water bottle
meaning exhaust gases leaking some where
