Big break down in MY2010 SC model

Hi guys,
Long time. So my RSS is 7 years old now. Had it since the birth. Right now the car is in the garage being fixed: it requires new injectors, battery and they suspect fuel got into the exhaust system which might have to be replaced. The bill is a number as long as my mobile phone number.

I'm wondering, should I sell it? Are there more things to come? It's not covered by anything at the moment. For those who has rrs as old as mine or older - do they start breaking down more and more eventually? I'm paying about 20% of the car's value to have it fixed. Not sure if it's worth keeping. Please advise. Vadim A.

If your have had the car from new I'm sure its worth keeping.

It may need a new cat, but can't see why it would need a new exhaust.

You could even try running with the old CAT, and if it fails the MOT emissions, replace then.

Maybe you need a new garage rather than a new car

If it's dumped fuel down the exhaust then chances are it melted the cat and blocked it up. Had this on one of my cars but didn't need the cat for mot so decat pipe cured the problem. 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior

Very interesting. Thank you for the replies. I was told that they suspect the exhaust system might have to be replaced. Hence the question: how does one tell whether it needs to be replaced or not. Visual inspection or there are other ways? If they know the the injectors are done with and need to be replaced, would they have the opportunity to see if the exhaust needs replacing too? If so, they would tell me for sure, yes exhaust is messed up as well, wouldn't they? Vadim A.

Only issue you could have with the exhaust is if it's blocked. Be that the cats have melted or a silencer box has rotted and the wading is blocking the pipe so engine can't breath 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior
