Alloys refurb.

I`ve been looking online for rough prices to get mine done. Some places won`t even do 22`s. I did find one place in Chester, which is local ish for me. Price is £595 and includes.....

ALL PRICES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

ALLOYS COMPLETELY REFRUBISHED IN ANY OF OUR STANDARD COLOURS

BRAKE CALLIPERS COATED IN A CHOICE OF COLOURS

TYRES RE BALANCED USING COLOUR CODED WEIGHTS
NEW VALVES
TWO YEAR WARRNTY
FREE COURTESY CAR

Is that a good deal or are there cheaper options? Cheers. Steve.

Obviously depends what area you come from, as I found that cheap, and was quoted £600-£780 for having my five done.
I found it cheaper to get aftermarket alloys, same design/finish etc, through Rimmer's LR Parts, but still haven't done either while not mobile.
The Chester one quoted must be same as where I got quote as price similar but more expensive. Included return carriage where wanted. John

Can anyone recommended places in North Wales/Chester even as far as Manchester as I'm not using car at present time.
Something more reasonable than in my post and of a good quality. Cheap often does buy crap unfortunately. John

Just had a quote for £300 with the wheels on the car at this place http://www.thewheeldealwirral.co.uk/ Not bad I reckon. I`ll get my suspension issue sorted first, in case it turns out expensive and then think about getting them done Thumbs Up Steve.

...wheels on the car... the job won’t be done properly then
A lot of ‘smart’ repairers will it least take the wheels off then unseat the bead, still not a proper job really.
Tyre off and shot blasted or chemical strip followed by powder coated primer and water bourne or powder coated top coat & lacquer is the best way, with the wheel properly inspected during the process.

I paid £70 a corner to have it done properly and was quoted £50 per corner for a ‘smart repair’
It was a no brainer, the difference in quality really shows. When done properly the wheel looks brand new on completion.

Cymruambyth, I Unfortunately have heard complaints about the wheels being done there, they didn't last 5 minutes, they don't use acid bath etc to remove back to base, only one coat used and one layer of lacquer, where as those that charge more in this area do a far better and noticeable improvement which actually looks new. Anyone that's doing alloys on the car, I would avoid totally, don't have ovens or anything of similar ilk.

I'm sure some others would have good reports of said garage, no disrespect meant to them, I'm only passing on long term reports from several people and feedback as don't want anyone wasting their money or not being happy with their results.
Cheap often means just that..........Cheap! John

Sorry..I wasn`t clear....when i said "on the car", I meant I didn`t have to take them off and take them in. I leave the car and they take them off to refurb them Thumbs Up

I`m surprised about the bad reports as they came highly recommended from a Facebook group (I was sent the link). I`ll have a think about where else to go. Steve.

Seems a fair price for what you get to be honest, you can pay less but things like the warrenty and the convienience of a courtesy car would make me go there Thumbs Up
