Dipped Beam Bulb Type

Hi All,

Just a quick question, what type of bulb does the 2010+ xenon dipped beam headlight use? Is it a D2S or D3S?

I purchased D2Ss based on a bulb website recommendation and they don't fit. However I don't have LR headlights rather Valeo OEM headlights, surely they can't be different?

Thanks in advance

2010 facelift headlights use the D3S. Earlier cars used the D2S. I had exactly the same issue recently. 2010 RRS 3.0 TDV6 - Bali Blue / Ivory Leather / Extended Leather / TV / Rear Entertainment / Privacy Glass / Timed Climate

Spot on Azz Thumbs Up

The website does't differentiate between pre and post 2010 models and blamed LR Rolling Eyes

Andy K,

Couldn't check the hand book as I've got a MY2006 with a facelift front and back so if it's in the book, it would have stated D2S also.

Anyway hopefully all sorted and should be here soon Very Happy

Cheers

The bulb type is shown on the headlight itself. There is a moulded-in panel on the top surface with info about the lights, who make them, E- numbers etc. It should have the xenon bulb on there too. On mine, it's at the outer end of the panel. Just visible here at the far right - it's easier to read on the real thing. This is an OEM Hella unit (hence the scrubbed out LR logo!)

Thanks for all the help got it sorted.

Unfortunately, I would like members to know the terrible service I am receiving from Auto Bulbs Direct.

Firstly after ordering the wrong bulbs due to their online bulb selector and being told it was LRs fault I reordered the correct one. Telling them both verbally and in an email that it was very urgent (I'm travelling tomorrow evening and need the car with with working headlights).

Well, on Thursday last week the day after placing the order I was told the courier (UPS) would collect Friday. Never heard of a courier taking so long to collect an order but okay. In my experience couriers come immediately especially in larger cities. Nonetheless, I email ABD Friday and asked for the tracking number. No reply and the weekend... Rolling Eyes

So today shoot off blunt email saying where are the bulbs? Which was read at 9:10am this morning and just received email from TNT (different courier from original) at 10:10am that the bulbs will be collected tomorrow 19th Sept Shocked Censored Shocked So all lies it would seem.

So no way the bulbs will arrive on time, so now ill have to take a taxi to the airport and incur additional cost and hassle. Will wait until package is shipped and raise a dispute as this unacceptable.

I for one am disappointed in the customer service and will never use them again, and will for that matter pass on my poor experience to all that ask.

Rant over what do you all think?

Cheers

Andy K,

Judging by the drivers here very much so, and hazard warning lights are used in lieu of brake lights Shocked

Well the complaining worked, full refund on the expedited shipping.

Cheers
