Did you buy through a car broker or a franchised dealership? Have read on loads of forums that many brokers make promises on delivery that they cannot honour - LR dealers used by brokers tend to send them back to the back of the queue in favour of full list price orders ................. check what your contract states for the delivery date, I bet there isn't a hard and fast date that they say the car will be delivered on. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

360 I would name & shame them, I was thinking of changing to a £87k AB last of 2017my, spoke to a few dealers & some had sensible discounts available but the trade in on mine was pitiful, it meant they would have around £7-8k on my loaded Hse dynamic at a year old with only 7k miles on, some of them thought they were doing me a favour & some don't even bother coming back to you as soon as you challenge them, seems they think JLR have a god given right to do what they want and we the paying customer will just suck it up! Not me, I'll keep what I have & eventually sell it 3 years old private or trade in again at a hopefully more sensible price!

What dealer did you go with? I'm based in Kent and used Rockar Stratford (found through CarWow). They delivered my car in 6 weeks (around 3 weeks ahead of the delivery date I was given when I ordered). Other dealers in Kent were quoting me July and said that no main dealer would be able to get a car faster than that (and if they said they could they were just lying to get my order). Overall I'm very pleased with the Rockar experience (and price!)

Basically the car is as is they can spray the roof but not to factory spec as would be at local spray shop. He tried to say as the black roof and missing fridge are no cost options on an SVR I had in theory not paid for them so could not reject car on that basis, I replied if you want to go down that route of trying to stop a rejection then I will pass on to my solicitor he then backed down. Won't supply a replacement vehicle as " it's at their choice either replacement or refund " and they would be looking at February 2018 before a car would be built and obviously would be MY18 so there would be cost implications but didn't know what cost, I offered to return the car now and wait but flatly said no

Frustrating.

Your contract is with the dealer, not JLR. They have contracted to deliver the car you ordered. If they can't then the contract is broken and you should be put back into the position you were before the contract was made (i.e. no new car, no order, money in the bank).

I think a problem you have is you have the car, so may be viewed as having accepted fulfilment of the contract.

Not sure you can reject using the CRA.

So 360 as to the roof ,as soon as you saw the car you would have seen the roof so why did you take it?
Second surely if on the order form it says black roof and fridge this is the dealers error and should make right or order new car?

They delivered the car to my house and after all the hassle I had gone through I did not notice the roof straight away but did notice the fridge not being fitted, but they assured me I had not ordered it, I took their word as had to rush back to work.. I later checked the order to cross check everything and then discovered the roof and fridge had been ordered, e mailed dealer but as usual got no response hence my meeting with head office today.

The car is great but the dealer is terrible When spending £100K on a car I want what I ordered and the contempt they seem to treat their customers is not acceptable.
