Blutooth

I have hunted the forum for answer to my bluetooth issue to no avail,

The symptom i get is as follows:

Bluetooth auto connects to car when I start the car.

I can start a phone call but after a while (sometimes minutes, sometimes seconds (10-15) there is a loud high pitched beep and the connection drops. The call is still there on the phone but not available in the car.

It is not the phone as it works perfectly in the 123d.

any ideas?

Try deleting the pairing on the phone and rebind them.

I deleted the RR from the phone and reconnected a few days later. sadly the fault persists.

Any more ideas.

As part of a process of elimination, can you try another phone to see if it happens Question Robin

So following my elimination process can we deduce:
- that the RRS side if things is fine as it works with the Samsung,
- and the phone with the issue still has the call, so it's not the mobile network side of things

Therefore it is the Bluetooth connection made by the suspect phone to the RRS. Not sure if that helps as you were probably there ahead of me. And I've no idea what you could try next. Something in the phone settings? Do you use the phone's Bluetooth on anything else e.g. Wireless speakers or something and if so does it work ok with them? (Not sure what 123D is I'm afraid)
What phone is it? Robin

You have a 2007 TDv8 listed as your car, can you say if it is the 2007 or 2007.5MY as there was a change in September 2007 when the cradle system under the centre cubby box lid was replaced by a fully B/T system - the only other change that you can tell if the car is 2007 or 2007.5 is that for 2007.5 electric steering column adjustment was also added to the spec then. It may be that if your car is the 2007MY with the Nokia cradle you may need a software upgrade as I doubt that there are any of the cradle attachments floating around these days for any of the modern smartphones. IIRC this is one of member Bodsy's specialities. Other option is to look for a Nokia 3110 handset............ 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Hi It is the 2007 not the 2007.5, although have had the bluetooth working for well over a year with no problems.

The 123d is a 1 series BMW. it is very odd as it works perfectly in that.

Phone also works briliantly on bluetooth speaker.

very confused

forgot to mention that Bodsy has laid hands on the car in the past 18 months ago and got the phone working off bluetooth.

I have tried to contact Bodsy but have failed to track him down.

A concurrent post on here would indicate that Bodsy is in high demand at present having been away on a break.

It sounds that he would be your best bet as he has been involved with your RRS before but you may have to be patient. Robin
