Bought RRS AB!

Hi All,

So I've decided to take the plunge and buy the RRS AB TDV6 MY10

here are some pictures. Cool

See last pic with high beam turned on which is halogen. I thought the main beam is used for high beam?
I want to change colour of high beam so it matches the main beam xenons. Same with cornering and foglight.

List of mods to do-

- Colour code door handles
- Change number plate and interior lights to match ambient ice white colour
- Mud guard removal?
- Secure rear lights (can someone help me with this?)
- Remap? would it be worth it...

Congratulations - what sort of warranty does it have? Standard 3 months non-franchised dealer warranty? I would suggest you drive it for 3-4 months before you decide if it needs a remap.
Headlights, only the dipped beam are Xenon on most cars but the mains can be upgraded with new lamps giving a whiter light and (if you feel you need it longer range) - I have had the Bi-Xenons on two RRS's (L320 and L494) and find them more than sufficient for fast driving on the local country roads I normally drive. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

I have 12 months warranty with company I bought it off. first 3 months they'll cover everything and after that they cover main components. test drove car and notice slight vibration on steering and they changed brake discs within 2 hours. RRS Autobiography TDV6 MY10

IIRC The lamps with the magnifiers are the Xenons - some folks call them "projector" lights. BTW the "signature" LEDs are not Daylight running lights on your car, the LEDS will only come on when you run with dipped headlights but it is possible to modify them - search in the forum as it has been covered. One suggestion - take the VIN into a main dealer service bay and ask them to check for outstanding recall work and TSB's that might not have been carried out. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

It may have been removed by the garage - there is a thriving market on eBay for them - to check, look in the middle of the rear bumper and if there is a removable section in the middle, take it out and see if there are electrics installed - at the very least there will be a whacking great cast in recovery eye, if there is a slot for the removable tow hook and electrics then the dealer owes you a tow hook! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yes, it is bi-xenon. The xenon lamps are used for both dipped and main beams - that's what bi-xenon means.

The halogen lamp is a "fill in" lamp to ensure a more uniform beam pattern when main beam is selected. This is easily "upgraded" to a whiter light output if you wish. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Yes I have noticed the projector light output increases when flashing high beam, but the halogen side ruins the look! Any recommendations on which light would go perfectly with the Xenon's?

Also, the led dots, how can they be programmed to be used as DRL? Currently they aren't as bright with sidelights switch on?

They cannot be changed in the CCF files to come on alone as DRL's, they can only be programmed to be used in conjunction with dipped headlights when ignition switched on irrespective of position of headlamp switch.

I did previously add a post of the options available in the CCF but not sure when I posted it.

Cheers
Col
