both to be honest but when on my mates solace pro it had misfires on all cylinders but number 4 was not and as it went through the 8 cycle sequence it did change a bit and if it had been thought it would be consistent but it was not and sometimes you can not feel anything with it so again its as if it is something breaking down and gas or petrol dont make any difference but once above say 2000 revs nothing and all misfires disappear Whistle

You timing chain guides may be worn and allow for some chain slack on idle. Regards etc.,

The simultaneous lean and misfire codes happening no matter if you run LPG or petrol, may indicate an issue with the timing chain (guides and/or bent bolts that fit the guides to the engine block). Seen this on two vehicles. A sure indicator of this issue would be increased rattling noise coming from the front of the engine at idle, disappearing on slightest push of the accelerator pedal.

You have probably done this already, but just give it a listening from outside the car on cold engine and repeat once it warmed up.

I believe your valve clearance idea might be a good direction as well... Regards etc.,

Hi I don't get the codes on petrol so I know that's just a gas thing and there is no noise on start up when cold or warm it does sound sweet I am going down the electrical route dirat as I said in my previous post it is not consistent so I would have thought if I had valve wear it would be there all of the time which it is not Thumbs Up
