Man...thats an ugly rear end

Followed a new Discovery out of Gaydon today.
Man that rear end is ugly, the whole back end looks out of proportion

Too many colours meeting at the back, the scollop where the number-late and name badge looks wrong, it's unbalanced, then the smallish rear window, evoque esq is too small and the balance of the shape with the taper of roof to wheels just looks wrong.

It never looked like that in development tbh.

Oh and the spare wheel still underneath, but you can see it when it's moving. Just bought a RRS 06 MY HSE TDV6 136,000 miles, to be a second car to my bland, boring Mitsubishi Outlander 68 plate 2.0 petrol 4

Noted the same in another thread a week or so ago.
It's not a good looking rear, like a cross between a 90's Toyota Previa and a Nissan Cube.

Really? The D4 looks like it has yet to be removed from its packaging ...

Mind you, the D5 doesn't look too good either!

Having said that, I'm not keen on the Velar rear end either.

If the car was number plate yellow, the off set plate might blend in a little

If the rear number plate was central it wouldn't look quit so odd at the back. See a couple of black ones with privacy glass and it looks very slab sided. I like the look of the disco 4 but don't think I would buy a 5. Hope the sport isn't going to change to look like that when I'm due a newer model.

Saying that, I've seen a few new cars that I hated the look of when they came out but now like so maybe the disco 5 will be the same. 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior

LR reckon they deliberately offset the rear number plate to maintain the Disco tradition. (I still don't like it).

It might look a bit better with a square plate.

I had the pleasure of test driving one a few weeks ago. Very nice inside and less body roll than D4 but it is not great to look at, from most angles. I much prefer D4 looks-wise over D5. Pity because it is so practical and a perfect family car otherwise Sad

Mind you, I said similar things about RRS2 rear end when it first came out Embarassed Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top
