Just had a quick trawl on some parts websites, I think the two pins should be the same! 2006 Java Black HST Supercharged |

Not sure about that... It could be that this requirement is exclusive to the 2010+ Range Rover Sport Supercharged models.

It's weird because on the rear left side the pins were the same while the right side has the one pin with the sleeve. I'm thinking it *must* be like this because of the OEM package sold by Land Rover. |

Had a read of the Workshop Manual. and it does specifically say make a note of the guide pin orientation prior to removal, and to make sure the are re-fitted in the correct orientation. Which is great except it doesn't actually show a illustration or description of the pin's if they are different and which way round they go.

OK so for future reference I nabbed the pic and confirmed. The Slider pin with the black end on it goes on the bottom.

I decided to paint my caliper and carrier yesterday. The top pin was the bushed one and after remembering this thread I checked and I thought it must have previously assembled incorrectly. So I set to assembling with the bushed pin at the bottom, and it jammed up. I managed to get it out in the vice and fit back in the original position and it fits perfectly. I’m thinking the left and right carriers are the same for both sides so the bushed pin is on the bottom when fitted to the left and top when on the right. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

That illustration and procedure is for a vehicle with standard Front Brakes, as I said previous the Workshop Manual for the Rears does specifically say make a note of the guide pin orientation prior to removal, and to make sure the are re-fitted in the correct orientation. Which is great except it doesn't actually show a illustration or description of the different pin's and which is the lower pin and which is the upper pin.
