What's people's thoughts on the 2lt

Depends on the power output but I think with the weight of the car it will feel under powered but saying that Volvo have done this with the new XC90 and I've not heard of any complaints of it being gutless but I think it's much lighter than a RRS 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior

I recently tested a Disco 5 with this engine and was pretty impressed with it. It seeemed to have adequate power and was quiet and refined. It was onlyashort drive.
The idea of the test was to get an idea of what it might be like in a RR Sport before placing an order. However when I came to spec the 2l car the price was coming out very close to a 3l on which I could get a good discount. Therefore ordered the larger engined car.

If you're not towing then it'll be fine. Stick a big tin tent or horse trailer on and it might need to be worked a bit harder. Having said that, the heavier RRS1 with the 2.7TDV6 tows ok and it's hardly known for being pokey. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

If anything I think the 3.0d will be more economical than the 2.0d! Bigger engine, less grunt needed to move the heavy thing!?

I found this when my wife had a 520d M Sport and I had a 530d M sport BMW - I used to get a better mpg than hers on many same routes but on a motorway run she would get around 5mpg more - Id rather have the extra power than 5mpg

The 520d did around 37mpg around town and the 530d did 32mpg with ease most of the time.
