Just been looking on eBay to buy some side steps for my RRS and noticed the some say luxury but don't look any different to the others.
I know I need to buy some with the pre cut sill covers but otherwise is the any diffrance in quality between the £130 steps and the £180 ones as they all look the same to me.
Anyone recommend some they have bought and found to be good quality before I hit the buy it now button.

I'm thinking of some myself, but haven't yet pushed the BUY button. My thoughts so far are that they need to be aluminium or stainless. In other words make sure your not buying steel so as to avoid rust issues. Ally is obviously lighter. Make sure the brackets look substantial - might be worth asking the seller what weight they can take. And be prepared (judging by what others say here) to re-affix the edging strips as they don't all seem to be well secured and the rivets rust quite quickly.

For convenience, I think precut sills are a good idea. Robin

I had the ones from Powerful UK. After 4 years they still looked good although I treated the Ali strips with ACF50 from time to time.
They also came with pre-cut plastic sill sections

Side steps ordered with pre cut sill covers from Carvantruck2010 on eBay £118.95 delivered so can't complain at the price.

As for the issues with rivets rusting out I think I will stone chip the underside of the steps before fitting to protect them so hopefully they will last years without any of the corrosion issues so people have commented on. 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior

Looking for a set myself , the eBay hobbies don't look too bad but every seller I've asked hasn't responded , especially when I asked about fitting , weights and rust issues ..

To all members.
Ask what the weight limit is, I've had various responses from 14-18 stone handling maximum. One seller stated doesn't matter as you don't stand on them (although I've seen people standing on the steps to clean the roof).
Genuine LR side steps are 20 stone weight handling capabilities, and much better made.
The different weights of these supplied on eBay is quite surprising, and none appear to match the LR spec as they say,re build thickness of metal, quality of, or weight handling, which for many, myself included. If a seller cannot give you full details, I would steer well clear.  John

I'm thinking of having custom nerf bars or stainless steel side steps for my RRS. A local fab shop will help. Does anyone have a custom steps? Just looking for ideas.
