£24k for a 2013 Sport? What's the catch? Few weeks ago a friend was looking to buy an Evoque and I tried to convince him to go for a Sport instead. We test drove a very nice 2013 Sport with 48k miles which was advertised at just under £31k. I appreciate it was an approved used car with lower mileage than the 70k one you saw on AT but it was still significantly cheaper at ~£31k compared to everything else at franchised dealers within the 25-30 mile radius. There were a couple of reasons for it having a low price: not sticking to the recommended service intervals and 1 tyre quite worn and different brand/tread pattern to the other 3. So judging by our recent experience I would think £24k even for a 70k miler (which is above average for age) is quite cheap even if it is a private sale.

In general, prices of all 4x4s soften in the summer but not by so much as would make a difference. Conversly, prices of convertibles firm up in the summer.

No idea if there is a catch, just search Auto trader and you'll see many 2013 old model range rover sports under £25k |

You mean normal depreciation for a Range rover? I get new cars lose value, but a 2013 Merc/BMW would not have lost £8k in 9 months. Anyway the price of the newer sleeker range rover sport is dropping. Yes granted its dropping slowly, but I think I might wait till the end of summer. Then "maybe" pick up a newer odel range rover sport for around £38k. I like the old model, my kids like the new model. I can remember me telling my dad to buy a Ford Sierra but he loved those boxy Cortina's. I guess history repeats. |

Buy an Approved Used from a main dealer to benefit from 2 years warranty. Peace of mind while you settle into the world of Sport ownership

No chance am I spending £27k on the older range rover lol. I doubt those vehicles will sell, if they do the owner will lose too much money. I am happy to pay £23k for a 2013 HSE with upto 75k mileage. |

£8K in 6 months is likely very easy, I bought mine for £35K from LR dealer on 31st July last year, just got a WBAC quote for £24K (probably same as dealer trade in). 41K miles 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

The challenge we all have is the trade off between price and condition. Is it better value to spend £21k on something not so well maintained and then find that you have to spend £10k on repairs or to spend £28-30k and get a good one? You pays your money........................... Robert |

I get your point but if the £30k car runs fine you'll lose £10k when ya sell it. If the £24k run well you'll lose £6k when you sell it, assuming 12-18 months owner ship |

The point is where do you stop? All the while your waiting for a possible price drop you are not driving one.
