It could be just dry joints if intermittent, but a real sod to get out and check/repair and costs a lot if you pay. May need a new light source LED if edge lit or LCD or plain old tube backlight all depending on model Year fitted. John

Is it that the perspex in front of the ambient light sensor dirty ?

you normally get a dim display when its cold and the battery power is prioritised by other ecus..if you stop and restart the display should go back to normal brightness.... |
