AFS OR NON-AFS?

Hi guys

Im about to order some 2010 headlights for my facelift conversion and need to know if my lights are AFS or NON AFS?

Theres no sticker on the lights to say they are. Is there anything else I should look for on the light?

The only sticker on the light is the one in the pic attached...

If I can read the number correctly XBC501763 is R/H RHD Adaptive Headlamp Bi Xenon with Cornering Lamp according to parts list, although the number has been superceded.

Cheers

Hi Col

Does that mean my lights are AFS so need to order the AFS unit headlamps?

All the headlights on the net including powerful uk are non AFS. If I do get the NON AFS lights, would all the lights still work minus the AFS function? And will I have any warning lights on the dash?

After reading a few threads from the search function I understand the AFS may not work with the earlier models as its not compatible.

I just dont want Christmas lights on the dashboard after installing the lights Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter RRS SUPERCHARGED, 22 INCH ALLOYS, JAVA BLACK, FULLY COLOUR CODED

B9BS X,

Noon AFS will work. You will get a warning light on the dash but if you have an IID Tool this can be turned off.

Most people myself included haven't got 2010+ AFS lights to work with pre 2010 vehicles, except Peachy I believe. This is to do with the way the headlights function and communicate.

I have 2010+ AFS headlights installed they work fine including the cornering lights, except for the AFS function.

Hope that helps.

I reckon they are non AFS lights.

Do you have an orange headlight icon illuminate at ignition switch on ?

If no, No AFS

That Part Number Cross References to a new number LR012440 which is the same number as the R/H Light fitted to my Old 09 plate pre-facelift and that had AFS.

I think the AFS unit may have a Control/ECU Resistor on the Rear of the Lamp and also one on the Bottom but not to sure about that though.

Thanks all, I dont thnk mines are AFS and after reading some old threads sounds like even if fitting AFS lights on my car the chances of them working are very slim Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Ive now ordered some NON AFS lights and think I now have everything I need for my face lift project and after watching all the powerful uk videos how to change all the parts over I think im ready to fit then send car off to a bodyshop for paint, just need to find the time to get round to it Mr. Green

Also whats your thoughts on the side bars powerful sell on their website?

You will also need a steering angle sensor as they also have little spot lights - cornering lights - that come on when you are doing less than 30mph and either turn the steering wheel or indicate left or right. They are very useful on dark twisty country lanes and in dark multi storey car parks. This is also how the OP can tell if he has adaptive headlights as you also have the active cornering lights as well with adaptive headlights. I'm not sure if Adaptive were standard on the S/C and as I am about 3000 miles from my collection of brouchures I cannot tell you if they were or not - for sure the 1st Editions had them. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

All RRS have the steering angle sensor, it feeds the info onto the 4x4 info screen (amongst other things).

I thought it was:

AFS: Very difficult to retrofit. Wiring and ECU required.
Cornering lights: very easy, already wired. You probably have them already on yours
