I have now cancelled the sale and my deposit is being paid in to my account on Monday. This was done over the phone as I was very Censored off with how things have gone today and wasn't in the mood to drive 30 minutes each way and didn't want to listen to anymore excuses.

Within 20 minutes of cancellation I had a call asking if their was anything they could to to put things right so I would be happy but I had just about had as much stress as I could take for one day so told them thank you for the call but I wouldn't be changing my mind and wish it hadn't come to me having to cancel the sale but I was not going back on that now.

Back to trying to find the right car again now, let's hope the next purchase will be a much more fun and straightforward transaction

Think I might hold out for a Autobiography but if the right Black Edition comes up then I may go for one of those again.

Good for you OP. I've had two awful dealership issues recently. We pay more to buy from a dealer as we expect more for our money, but I'm now starting to think buying private is a much nicer experience, even if you have some issues to deal with.

I went to Landrover dealer as I thought I would get a better quality of service and as they are meant to be so fussy about what used cars they retail I would get the best car for the extra you pay with main dealers but I'm hoping it was just a one off and other dealers are more professional

Plus I wanted the Landrover warranty which I'm told is about the best you can get for a used Range Rover.

I've dealt with two dealerships (local to myself, not sure if I'm allowed to name and shame) and both have been negative experiences. Granted I've got an 11 year old car and wasn't buying a new one but that shouldn't really matter.

You can get good an bad Dealerships.
My wife and I have 4 cars between us and the best service we've had is with VW with our 14 year old diesel Golf. There's a Land Rover dealership literally less than a mile from where I live and when I bought the 1st of the 4 RRS's I've had after just the 2nd visit for warranty work I was done with them. I now go to a dealership 34 miles away and their service is so much better. My 3 other RRS's have come from them with the last one being brand new. They have told me that a lot of customers have followed me from the other Dealership,so you would assume that Land Rover would be doing something about it, especially when you fill out the feedback emails they send. But no, I've heard from friends of mine that the dealership is still very very poor!! and yes they are now dealing with the same one as I use.

I've found a 62 plate Autobiography from a LR dealer that have been recommended to me by a few people that I'm going to look at tomorrow so hopefully this car will tick all the boxes and I will be on my way to owning my next RRS.

The car I pulled out from buying was a perfectly good car but it was the dealer who failed to deliver what they promised making me think do I want to give them my money after the way I was treated.

Hopefully I will get the service I should of got from the last dealer with this new dealer !

Hey Smarttech,
If this car is the one for you, it might be worth mentioning the trouble you had with the other dealership and hopefully they will be even more helpful to get your business and perhaps sweeten the deal as well. If you don't ask you don't get, so good luck and keep us posted Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

They have already been made aware that I have pulled out of one deal due to the way the dealer treated me and the bad communication I got from them plus not having the car ready for collection day despite pushing me to collect before I wanted to collect.

So far communication has been very good and I can't fault the effort the salesman has put in so at the moment it's down to the car when I see it as can't fault the dealers service.
