I've found one for the Full Fat but not the Sport. Is it the same whereby you remove the struts and use the hinged brackets to support the weight of the bonnet at full opening angle?

For years, my cars have been under warranty so every day will be a school day with the RRS. As the battery I've purchased weights more than my last car, and I'm the equivalent of the Mr. Muscle character from the adverts, I'm expecting it will be a bit of a pig!!

Also, when trying an ECU reset, is there a safe way to do this without the resistor that Powerful UK use in their guide video?

but yes it really helps if you have something to prop/rest the battery on to.
Eg stool etc.

It's a straight lift over the wing. Bit of a fiddle getting it in but it's not too bad other than the sheer bulk of the battery. Be careful when you push it in as the engine ECU + another ECU live in the box immediately behind the battery below the windscreen.

Also check the battery lower flange fits under the restraining lip at the bottom of the battery box. I bought my current battery from Halfords and the restraining lip needed a little surgery to allow fitting. Not difficult but a tad annoying.

Make sure the end of the hydrogen vent pipe doesn't get caught below the battery or otherwise pinched against something.

Obviously, if your battery has died make sure the alternator is healthy. Annoying to kill the new battery if the alternator is misbehaving. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Killing the battery wouldn't be good! I've bought a Bosch battery so will report back on the quality of the fit with the retainer etc

That link works out to around £85. The Bosch one from Costco is £95 which is similar to eBay and comes with a four year warranty so they'll exchange for pretty much any reason within that time period

If you have not got a Costco card you can pick one of these up. Just walk in to the euro car parts counter and demand the ebay price not the web price! I picked up a Bosch S5 last week, same size but more cranking power than the S4 and 5 year warranty. for £102
