Get in and press button once and let go, car starts itself when its ready. I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute. |

Getting in, pressing the button once and letting it go just turns ignition on. Never automatically started the car for me no longer how long I leave it like that That's how it should be because you don't always turn ignition on with the intention of starting the car. A second button press and release turns ignition back off. You have to keep the button pressed to start the car.

it will only start car if you have your foot on the brake pedal. If you just want ignition on then don't touch the brake.

Thanks Andy ... forgot about the brake pedal. One of those things you get into the habit of and don't think twice I'll do the one press thing from now on as it seems to be the best way. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Yep, I do the press brake pedal, one push on the button and just wait for it to start. Takes noticeably longer in really cold weather during which I put my seat belt on. Time and Motion, eh?
