2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red

Obscured Reversing Camera

Reversing Camera. Odd one this, Sport went into dealership before Christmas with a fault on an injector, turned out to be nothing but a lose wire. While it was there they applied a couple of software updates. Before it went in the reversing camera showed a full image of what was behind you with nothing obscuring it, since receiving it back it now shows across approximately the bottom quarter of the image part of the vehicle. dealership showed me another 2 sports that they had in the workshop and both had the image obscured across the bottom by part of the vehicle, dealership says that they are all like this! Has anybody still got a camera with a clear unobscured image?

Mine had software updates 5 weeks ago and no change to the reversing cam inage. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Does it have a clear unobstructed image or part of the vehicle showing across the bottom quarter of the image? Cheers Nick

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Firenze Red

As with Tim above, clear (when I clean the camera!) unobstructed view of the rear of the vehicle without any of the vehicle in view. My only moan on the MY15 that I have is that the cameras are not equipped with washers and I spend half my life cleaning the lenses. This has now been rectified on more recent Model Years.

Mine has 1/2 inch of car showing in bottom of the screen. This is due to the wide angle lens picking up the lower surrounds of the number plate recess I believe. Never seen this as an issue in relation to function. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

Mine does show a part of the rear bumper at the bottom of the screen. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

I see the same part of the car and never bothered mentioning it to the dealer as the view is fine for my needs. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

I find it a positive boon as it lets me see exactly where the rear bumper is in relation to parking bay markings etc. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

I have that ½" at the bottom of the screen but it has always been like that as far as I can remember and like Wilf I also find it aids positioning the back as close as possible to objects like reversing the car as close as possible to my Defender to get them both onto my drive without one sticking out onto the courtyard I live on.

Well, aren't you the lucky one. I think I would have seen a washer by now if one were present. Do you have the surround camera system or just the rear camera? I have the useless surround camera system, useless because none of the cameras have washers and suffer the same fate as the rear one. Useless because the one view that would be useful is the "helicopter view", not present on MY 2015, both fixed in successive MY's and useless because you cannot record the picture from any of the cameras which would save everyone the effort of "jury rigging" (at best) a front & rear dash cam!

Rear camera washer came in with MY '16. It does help, but it isn't perfect, I still do the morning finger wipe thing. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.
