2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Most of my driving is fast A roads, and back roads with occasional motorway driving. Speed limit on our a roads that are not Dual Carriageway is 60mph but many are 50mph which is good for consumption. Motorways officially are 70mph however many drive much faster, 80 mph being the average (ie you still see people driving well in excess of that) and then my mpg tumbles. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Firenze Red

No Motorway driving, mixture of A roads, single track country roads and city driving and I was averaging 36.4 mpg. However, since having the recent software upgrade this seems to have dropped to 31.8 mpg (all measured). However, the increased performance is worth every penny in the increase of fuel consumption! Should have been like this since day one.

Concur with your findings and comments Jock, although I still use Dynamic Mode regularly I now find that S on the gear box is redundant! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Bails, don't forget we are restricted to a measly 100 or 110kph in this country. Uk most motorway driving is anything form 110 to 150 kph. Also don't believe what you see on the dash. I did an airport trip last night filled up at the beginning and was surprised to see 5.8l/100 on the dash. I then filled up on return and worked out that it was actually 7.4l/100! Still good for large car.

Must do a measured calc one day. I tend to trust the read out as it seems to fall in line with my expectations. I have had high 7's but tend to get mid 9's all the time now which I am well pleased with. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

The RRS factory trip computer is anywhere between 10% and 20% optimistic. It's a pity because before LR started to rig their government testing to look better I was 95% of the time able to achieve the claimed fuel consumption using the brim to brim calculation. Now it is almost impossible to get anywhere near the official claimed figures on any Land Rover and some are almost 100% wrong comparing official figures and real life - Evoque ED4 was claimed to get 76mpg, most owners were lucky to see 38mpg.......... and that was the 2WD Eco version! I now use Fuelly.com and log all my fuel purchases and odo miles there. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Funny when you think that India is a Nation of computer programmers and Hackers that the things that work the worst on Land Rover products are the ones that require computer technologies? I have assumed the trip computer to be correct, I have measured the speedo against my GPS and with the wheels and tyres I now have on the Speedo is almost perfect. So getting a 1000 K's from a tank happens for me most of the time which means I'm running around the figures I have quoted. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

Tata Motors should ring a bell. They are the owners and they are an Indian company. So perhaps the question mark can go ? M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

I know that, but I doubt very much that the Indians have much if any technical input into JLR. In fact most of it would go from JLR to Tata Motors. RRS P460e

I can confirm that very little technology comes from India, although they are hiring more graduates from India, I know this because I rent property to JLR staff, and we have a lot of enquiries from staff from India on 6 month secondments.

I can see Tata Motors using JLR tech in future indian cars, and why not, they own it.
