Hi guys, it sounds like I have to have another test drive in an F Pace then as the one I drove was the 2.0ltr and I was not at all impressed - it wasn't long after launch and the car was full of rattles and the ICT wasn't working properly............. As most of my journeys are between 40 and 130 miles round trip I have a depost on a Tesla X but the lowest spec coming to the UK will make it more expensive than an RRS Autobiog so am interested in the I-Pace. Range is a worry for my longer journeys to London and back but now we have a direct train from Stirling to London in 5.5 hours and the return fare is less than the cost of fuel for the RRS I can see me taking the train more often. When I drive south now I do it with an overnight stop at Lancaster and have already inquired at the hotel and they are about to install 2 charging points in their car park so I reckon with the run from Stirling to Lancaster then Lancaster to London I could do it in no longer time than I do it currently. I Pace is also AWD.

Tim/Tony, I did not do the complete NC500 this year, although have done all of the route over the years (before being popularised as the NC500). This year was particularly bad for exactly the reason you mention. Single track roads generally are not appropriate for caravans, but on parts of this route are positively dangerous. It seems that many folk think they have to follow the route religiously or they'll fall off the edge of the earth, or some such. They can get on and come off the designated NC500 route at several points and would make the experience far more positive for everyone. It is becoming so popular now, there is a move by many locals to have all the advertising and promotion of it taken down as it is turning parts of rural Scotland into a car park! There's no pleasing some folk! They want the tourist dollars, but not the tourists. Sound like BREXIT???? If you guys are planning the trip and want a guide, let me know.
