VERY QUITE CAR ALARM

Hi Folks
Set my alarm off today and could barely here it, are they really that bad or do I have a fault somewhere, is it possible to just replace the sounder ?

Try disconnecting the siren. Leave it unplugged and give it another try, on the Discovery 3 if you disconnect the main siren it automatically reverts to the horn and uses that as the siren instead. Much louder too so worth a try Thumbs Up 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

As buckster said, if you unplug the sounder module, it's on the drivers side under the brake pipes. A Volvo unit.
Unplug it and you'll get a mans alarm instead of a little girls alarm. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

The lack of volume of the main sounder has been an issue since launch in 2005! If you are old enough to remember back to then you might recall at that time there was a huge fuss being made in the press about how unnecessarily loud car alarms were......... also that people felt it was unnecessary that you needed to have a comfirmation beep when the car was locked and the alarm was set................. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Rolling with laughter I know what you mean Ilard but I have had the treatment and it worked, no more sleepless nights ............... I blame "auto correcting" grammar and spelling now. Now I get worked up by those who have to type everything in bold and have to quote massive long posts before they make a 3 word comment................ 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
