Does anybody find the steering to light on their 2.7 RRs

Ive recently purchased a 07 RRS. I find the steering rather light and she does not want to self centre like most things ive drove where the steering wheel pings back like i coiled spring.
I must add it does self centre just not greatly.

Does that sound about right. Ive got 2 new tyres due to go on.
Bushes all ok. Had alignment done unless they cocked that up 😂
Rear arb D bush knackered though cant see that effecting.

Any opinion welcome. Ive never drove another one.

Was it a full wheel alignment including camber and castor or just tracking you had done.
Cars with air suspension are more complicated to align as the car cannot be jacked up during the alignment procedure. As the car will not be in its normal ride height position. Some alignment machines require the wheel to be rotated to check for run out on the hubs. If you do this the car will not be aligned correctly. It's best to drive the car at least a mile first then drive it straight on to the ramp and leave the drivers door open so the car won't try and level itself during the alignment. Life's too short to drive boring cars !

They are 19s .
I couldnt tell you i left it with them. I know they probably will of atleast turned it off ive seen them do that before.
But yes again they just did tow in / out thats all.
Its probably a job best suited to a indy rather than a random.garage with a 4 wheel alignment tool?

The customary way to find the best place for alignment near your location is to use this website:
http://www.alignmycar.co.uk

Most Indies don't have the capability to do alignment - you really need a tyre and alignment specialist.

Having identified one call them and check that they have the means to put the car into 'tight tolerance mode'. If they don't understand go to a different place where they do!

Turn up with a full fuel tank and expect the whole process to take up to two hours. Aligning these cars properly is no simple or cheap matter.

If you have doubts about any bushes or ball joints get those fixed first. Good luck! 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

I find the steering quite light and it suits me perfectly,, make the car so easy to drive. Recently had an XC70 as a courtesy car,, brand new, and it was like driving a tractor, found the steering very heavy compared to the RS 2010 RRS, TDV8

Only owned my 2.7 a few weeks but its fine for me.

I did have a Jaguar X type a few years back that had exceptionally light steering.

Had it checked out at a Jaguar specialist, they said it was a lot lighter than normal
but couldn't find any faults with it Yawn

Remember the power steering assistance is speed-related and so very light at low speeds but weights up a bit at higher speeds. It takes a little getting used to but is generally very good. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
