Engine Fault

Hi Lads

Sorry for repeating this question, Over the last couple of weeks I have had the loss of power symptom when pushing the Sport mostly when going uphill.

Same as before the Engine loses power and seems to go into limp mode , "Special Programs Off " warning comes up on dash. Then I stop car switch off and re-start and all is okay again.

Would really like to try and get to the bottom of this fault ,so any help / suggestions on how to cure this would be much appreciated guys

Thanks John Confused Thumbs Up

Re Engine Fault

Hi Lads

Thanks very much for the replies ,I have a few days off next week so will firstly try and check the Turbo Actuator and the Turbo to Intercooler hose. I have always used Delphi Fuel filters and last change was only a few months ago but have had the problem intermittently before the last change.

The problem only seems to happen when it's pushed hard Uphill ,if the throttle is eased smoothly it all seems to work okay.

Will try and have a look at earlier posts to see the best way to check these, Am I right in saying the Actuator can be accessed from the passengers side wheel arch. And is it better to remove the Turbo to Intercooler hose to check.

Will try these two checks next week thanks guys. If not these will probably organise to bring it up to you Mikey if that's okay bud to check fuel pressure's Thumbs Up

Cheers again Jock Bow down

Re. Engine Fault

Hi Lads
Had a look at the Turbo Actuator and hoses last week. The actuator seemed pretty free but gave it a spray with WD40 and worked it a few times when I was in there anyway.

Had a look at the hoses and the short hose had a bit of oily residue around it, so went round all the jubilee clips and managed to get them a bit tighter.

Tried it out and tried pushing it on as much as possible and all seems to be okay at present so fingers crossed. Now considered if it was worth replacing all the hose around the Turbo ,but looks a nightmare to do. Confused
