The 8 grand gearbox!

Lads been a while since I used this forum due to buying a evo9 and giving the RRS 2.7 2007 to the misses

In the past I have had megaflush at 104k , gearbox was fine until now @114k

I've got a warranty with warrenty wise .... it is currently in land rover (md) with the quote of 8k back to warrenty wise,

I've put this on here as it may help anyone thinking about getting cover.

I will post updates when I have them

Fingers crossed gents !

8k for a gearbox ouch
My2007 2.7 tdv6 is currently laid up after oil pump tensioner failure, warranty wise have agreed to pay my maximum single claim limit of 4K, just sent them my service history and MOT and agreed it in less than 24hours. Nanocom Evo

You sir, are being shafted

A recon box is £2500 (ish) + VAT. 8 hrs labour @ £100 p/h + VAT

Let's call it £3,500 + VAT. I'd love to know where £8k comes from Wink

Couldn't agree more but with only a local garage being a MD I'm stuck for choice.

If warrenty wise say it's too much then I will look to another garage like you said 3500 seem to be the average

Have you got main dealer labour rates on your warranty and a maximum single claim limit ? Nanocom Evo

Better than the 4 I opted for , you need to locate a good Indy or ideally a auto gearbox specialist. Nanocom Evo

I'm thinking of contacting warrenty wise if accepted and propose second price somewhere else , especially if cheaper then both myself and the company would be better off, not sure if they would go for that though !

Get the vehicle flat bedded somewhere else. Hell, trucking it halfvway across the country would still be hugely cheaper than that! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

+1 I agree with Dr Rob, get the car to Mikey, Bow down however stay well clear of his wife, especially as Mikey has just stolen her Sport and Freelander. Whistle In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

Lol thanks for the reply lads!

Whilst waiting for warrenty to pull their finger out I've been doing some looking about and I can get a recon box supplied and installed for £1300.00 , this is from a land rover specialist, what are people thoughts about this ?
