you will be ok with a 2 ton jack as your only going to be lifting one corner at a time,,it also depends how much you want to spend & if the ground is level where your going to be jacking up.We use these & they are good if jacking up on uneven ground as they are wide.

These axle stands will be good enough

I use this one with the 6 ton stands: https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/ctj3000g-3...-garage-j/ Aside from the strength (and it is worth noting that the 3-ton Clarke quick lift jack has been known to fail under the weight of a D3) you also get more height available. I borrowed a 2 ton trolley jack and it wouldn't lift mine. Got a 3 ton sealey jack for around £35 and a pair of stands from argos around £20.

A little off topic but I am looking for a good 2 ton light Weight Bottle jack to carry in the car. I don't like the jack supplied and if I need to change a wheel would like a better solution. Wondering if any of you guys have found a good solution. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

Hi IRBails, in answer to your query, I bought this item from LR Direct, and as you can see it fits nicely in the tool tray Thumbs Up

That's the kit i received last week, it lifted and supported mine with absolutely no effort at all.
Just be care full when you removing the axle stands when your finished, i raised the car up grabbed the axle stand and lifted the ratchet to free the support arm, it dropped down a wee bit quicker than i thought and i didn't quite move my little finger out the way in time. A week later and huge blood blister, swelling and rather tender joint, I'm slowly getting its use back..lol

I very recently purchased the same Jack but not with those stands, was very disappointed that not a trace of oil etc in the Jack at all, and it was extremely difficult to remove retaining clip.(badly bent).
Phoned up and they say it shouldn't be that empty and I'm awaiting pickup and exchange.
So just check yours has sufficient oil in it. John
