Limp mode
Can anyone help, my RRS keeps going into limp more, there is little consistency as to when this happens but it seems to have started around the same time as the passenger door lock started playing up)
I had a fault reader for our old mini which was pretty cheap and I know several threads on here suggest people have them for the RR Sport
Good luck!

We could all speculate about the cause of your limp mode but as already said the best way is to connect a fault code reader to the OBD port. Generic code readers have their uses - but really only on run-of-the-mill hatchbacks.
For a complex vehicle like the RRS you need a Land Rover specific tool like the Gap Diagnostics IID but at close to £400 you may find it more cost effective to visit a good Land Rover specialist.
Common causes of limp mode include partially seized turbo variable vanes (or the actuator rod ) and partially blocked fuel filter but there are many other causes.
Problems with the door lock latch motors are very common but usually not connected with limp mode. You can replace the whole latch at parts cost £100 or just the motor at about £10 from fleabay.2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
