Has anyone else come across this, 2nd 2016 vehicle with the same issue?

What are the symptoms?

No symptoms other than the warning message followed by a second message "car won't restart after xxx miles" car back in with Jlr so I'll update blog when I know more. Bfp

It sounds like the adblue needs topping up. The car has selective catalytic reduction to reduce NOx emissions and this depends on adblue to provide ammonia for the catalyst.

If only as simple, quality not quantity. I'm told it's not just me but doesn't seem to be a definite fix at this moment

Adblue can crystallise, which may be causing your problems.

Any recent update on this as I have just got same message today 2016 model 49000 mls , ad blue filled at independent when supplied and serviced 1500 mls ago . 2016 RRS HSE Firenze Red

Ad blue quality can vary, just like engine oil quality.

The manual for my 24MY states:-

Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). Diesel. AdBlue™ meeting ISO 22241 and ISO 22241-1.Diesel Exhaust Fluid is also known as DEF, AdBlue, AUS 32 and ARLA 32.

I have heard of some types of Ad Blue being “over diluted” and I seem to recall there was a software update on my 16MY L494 about “ Ad Blue quality”.

I always buy a reputable brand ( Redex).

Sorted at supplying independent today , as far as I can gather AdBlue tank drained and then fluid added in increments whilst software approving each step till fault cleared . 2016 RRS HSE Firenze Red
