Suspension ACCESS height problem.

RRS MY2008 TDV6.

After ACCESS height is selected, vehicle sinks to ACCESS height and as soon as it hits bottom, it will immediately rise again into EXTENDED height.

Message centre reads "Reset suspension height when clear of obstruction"

There are no recorded faults read by the Gap IDT tool. Vehicle is on level ground, stationary, engine idling, and there is no obstruction.

Hopefully someone has a suggestion on what could be at fault.

TIA

Have you had the suspension lowered?, as have come across this on vehicle where the suspension has ben reset and lowered too much and thinks it has bottomed out. Could try re-setting to factory height configuration using Gap tool or just try experimenting raising the ride height a couple of mil at a time to see if that make any difference.

Cheers

Vehicle is bog standard. Yes, perhaps I should read the ride heights to see what the height sensors are showing at the bottom.

In normal ride height, what is the measurement between centre of range rover wheel centre and lower edge of wheel arch?, should be some where between 461mm Front + or - 12mm and Rear 465mm + or minus 13mm

Cheers

I had a similar problem although between offroad and normal.

I cleaned out the valve blocks. front/rear/middle to remove white dust.
Fitted new seals £14 ebay.
Cleaned out the dryer to prevent more white dust.

........and some useful information passed onto me before, don't forget when altering height it affects the other heights, so if you lower by 15mm on access, then your normal and off road settings will also be 15mm lower. Same on raising heights subject to bottoming out or trying to high. Smile John

Tried all the above suggestions except dismantling anything.
Ride heights are spot on.
Still no joy!

Probably a sensor issue then. When you lower the vehicle, watch the 4x4 screen to see if a red bar shows above one of the wheels just before it starts to raise back up. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I suspect there are other things which can cause the car to think it has come aground.

For example not lowering quickly enough Crying or Very sad (due to blocked valves/pipes)

I am going to be looking at the height sensors and valves next, possibly tomorrow if I have time.

Which valves should I be looking at?

Front and rear valve blocks. Rear is on the left rear suspension turret. Front is behind the front right bumper. Access through the wheel arch 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I looked at doing it once but decided a ramp would make the whole job easier as you can come at it from the spare wheel bay then. Got a garage to do it in the end. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

It looks like the contents of the compressor dryer has turned to powder form and deposited all over the suspension components. I need to replace the desiccant and filters of the compressor dryer.

As I have the original Hitachi pump, anyone have any ideas where I could purchase a new dryer complete, or else just the desiccant and filters as a kit.

TIA
