Replacement Rear Brake Pads

Was an expensive month last month, 3rd service, 1st MOT , Road Tax, and insurance renewal, so when the Dealer said my rear Brake pads could do with replacing, I told then to leave then this month. Driving past today, called in to see how much, they said about £250 .00 was shocked, came away and rang a local Landrover Indie round the corner, quoted me £101.40 using genuine LR pads, I am happy as a pig in Sh** MY 13 3.0 SDV6 HSE Black Edition

Just saying that you could get OE pads off eBay for £30/£40 and fit them yourself - its not a hard job, maybe 30 mins?

Fitting your own Mintex Pads can save a fortune and they are a good make, but you can pick up genuine LR pads at a fraction of the price dealers charge for them at service time, as suggested by the member above. Why LR feel they have to rip you off on everything doesn't bode well for continued commitment to the brand. John

Had my service done in May and it was noted that rear pads were 30% and that they would need to be changed in a few thousand miles. They put the cost at 282 euro. Robbing bast....

Take out some more life insurance - then it will probably be ok Smile

Simple pad replacement is easy - but a few other things to check.

1. What is condition of rotors - and how thick are they. If glaZed, lipped, cracked or too thin
Those should be replaced too ..( and then job becomes harder because you need
To deal with park brake)

2. I assume sensor did not go
Off yet - else that needs replacing

3. When did you last flush brake fluid ?
