what is your mileage ?

ive just ticked over 106,000 miles in my 2008 2.7 Tdv6.

I love the car but its starting to fail on wear and tear items. I once took a VW golf to 210K with minimal problems. I cant see me doing this in the current rangey...........

Question what mileage are you at now ? is anyone on here with high mileage ?

Just coming up on 130,000 miles in my TDV8. Replacing wear and tear stuff is what you do when you use a vehicle. Thumbs Up Seriously though, what is it "failing" on?

I had a Mk4 VW Golf that lunched its gearbox at 66,000 miles and also needed quite a bit of warranty work in its first three years too. Nice car but not the paragon of reliability that some would have us believe. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I wasn't complaining about wear and tear .... More concerned about taking this motor to 200k , correct me if I'm wrong the general feeling from RR owners are they are not the most reliable

Started this thread to see if anyone has reached 200k+ Thumbs Up

They are not known for being the most reliable vehicles in the world, that is true. However, they do make up for it by being just about the most versatile vehicles. The whole Disco/RRS/FFRR stable mix comfort and go-anywhere ability like nothing else. Others do on road better, others do off road better (arguably), others are more reliable and others still are more comfortable. But nothing else really mixes the whole lot together in quite the same way. We have to make some allowances for that, I think.

If we were talking about Italian cars we'd be using the word "character" to describe their foibles. Being British, we just moan a bit soto voce and then pay the garage bill. Big Cry Rolling with laughter

I was reading a thread on the FFRR site where people talk about FFRRs hitting 200k miles with ease - it is not unusual. There are certainly members of Disco3 with that and much, much more under their wheels. I think perhaps that RRS owners are less inclined to use their vehicles every day and put big mileage on them. I have ideas about why this might be but they aren't likely to be popular with some members on here and I'll get lynched... Whistle Whistle Rolling with laughter

Mine gets used every day and is expected to go anywhere in any weathers: I just pay the bills to keep it running and enjoy the experience of driving it. Thumbs Up Oh, and I never wash it. Rolling with laughter

Oh, and I'd like to get mine to 200k if the engine will allow it... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Not near 200k but has 146k right now. Known issues fixed as it happen by previous owner, so was normal wear and tear, usual stuff. Engine is still smooth, no problems and I hope to keep it like that.

My sister's 2006 2.7TDv6 S is approaching 210,000 miles. It's Java Black and the bodywork is still glossy despite driving 3 miles of forest track every night and morning to and from their remote house, it's on it's 3rd set of tyres and wheels and passes it's MOT every year with no problems. Wisely the original owner specced it with the optional leather interior as I think that the S's velour seats would now be very tatty. My brother-in-law also had the steering rack uprated shortly after they bought the car, in view of continued rough road use that they were going to give the car. It gets non franchise LR specialist servicing as soon as it it due. It gets driven about 40 miles a day in all weathers and is often used as a cash and carry van for their shop/ pub and B&B businesses. The interior looks like it just came out of the showroom and shows no signs of imminent failure of anything. Despite my brother-in-law saying that anyone who bought any Land Rover product was mad, he has had to admit that this has been the best and most reliable car that they have ever owned, it has never broken down although they had EGR problems early in it's life which were sorted under the approved used car warranty. The transfer box/ low ratios get exercised regularly throughout the winter but rarely in the summer, no problems there either. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Just ticked past 120k this weekend in my 06 tdv6. Love the car. It's had a new engine at 89k and a re conditioned gearbox and tc a few thousand miles ago after a gearbox flush seemed to finish it off. Big Cry
I'm sure it'll reach 200k...but in the same way that triggers broom lasted 20 years

I thought all Belts / Chains had to be done well before this mileage? John

Mine 06 2.7 TDV6 is at about 103K, just at the age when I'm replacing the usual (for any car) worn suspension bushes etc. Drives superbly.

I guess you could ignore the odd worn bush etc, but being an engineer, I like having things working properly, so I have a rolling program of maintenance. Listening to others at work I wouldn't say they are any more unreliable than others. It seems that a lot of car manufacturers have some expensive issues. (A friends 4 year old 520d, cam chain failed and it required a new engine, cost £3.5K at an indie to fix. Quite common apparently). Thumbs Up

125k

I've had a few things done in the last 4 years of ownership inc Compressor and front ACE but its been reliable, got me where I need to go, so can't complain. Gets a moderately hard life.

Front suspension creaks and there's a bit of low-speed knocking which is annoying & I must get round to sorting...
