Sun roof - should it leak - even a little bit

Evening,
2006 with a sun roof, just had a torrential downpour and my daughter was uick to point out that water was coming in through the sunroof.
Should the 2006 have 1 touch closing of the sun roof? I seem to only be able to close it by holding either button down, and i can never tell if it is properly closed, a fraction to long on one button and i can see a glimmer of daylight at the back, a fraction of a press on the other button and then it is a glimmer of daylight at the front.
I've read as many of the older posts as possible. Some say that a small amount of water should / can come in, hence the 4 drainage holes.
Others have replaced the seal. I reckon the seals are original, are both able to be replaced?

It shouldn't let a drop of water into the cabin and it should seal around the aperture well enough that nothing enters the channel too. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks Tim.
Looks like i will be sourcing some new seals for around the sun roof window and around the body frame.

Any idea on the one touch closing? Have tried the reset options advised but don't know if i've done it right as nothing changed. 2019 RRS P400e Autobiography

I haven't had a car with an opening sunroof in quite a long time.............. Either a panoramic roof that doesn't open or just a full plain steel roof. My Defender has a pop up glass panel that is now 20 years old and it seals well but in the cold weather it is a pain as it get condensation on the inside and 1st thing in the morning when I go round a corner or along a bumpy road I get an icy shower or water droplets down the back of my neck! I rarely open that in hot weather either as it causes terrible turbulence inside the cabin at speed 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

You don't say how you are recalibrating the Sunroof, but just in case you are not sure this is how to do it.

Ignition On

With Sunroof Closed, press and release the Front of the Switch and the Roof should move to Tilted Position.

Press and hold Front of Switch for 20 Seconds, after which the Sunroof should start to move. Keep the Front of the Switched pressed until the Roof has gone through a Fully Open and Close Cycle when it has Stopped Moving release Switch

Should now be Calibrated.

Cheers

Yeah get it calibrated so its doing it automatically.

On other cars, it will push the roof down and then back up again, so the seal is always left sitting in the same position. (pushing up). It doesn't sound like your getting the benefit of this (assuming the RRS does this once calibrated)

Thanks for the advice.
Sat in the car now. Pressing once on the front button opens the tilt a fraction. To open it fully i need to press and hold the button. Same process for the sun roof sliding back. Have to press and hold.
One touch open or close is not functioning.
Have held front button down for 20 / 45 / 60 and 90 seconds. No change. 2019 RRS P400e Autobiography

If it is not calibrate correctly the One Touch will not work.

If you get the Roof to Open to the Full Tilt position and let go of the Switch for a few seconds, then press and continually hold switch Pressed what happens?
The roof should Fully Open and then Close again until it Stops and then let go of switch.

Cheers
Col

Did as instructed. Ignition on / engine on / everything off.
Nothing. And again for 30 / 45 / 60 seconds.

Is one stop closing a feature that all card have? 2019 RRS P400e Autobiography
