Random alarm not bonnet switch

hi, I've just bought 2006 HSE it's got few things I need to look into but that's for another day, 😉 the alarm randomly went of a couple times (early hours off course) went to investigate this morning and the bonnet switch electric connector has already been disconnected and bridged with small piece wire, SO my question is what els could be the cause of random alarm.

Just to mention it may or may not be relevant, the car wouldn't allow me to open with the key at first also tried the spare then after several attempts with both key it decided to open, car started fine Locked and unlocked several times and ok, went into hidden menu and checked battery state and ignition on 11.5v engine started 13.5v.

I new I missed something when I sold my other RR SPORT. Confusion, worry, sleepless nights, and most important raiding kids piggy banks & searching down back sofas for extra cash for parts & repairs. O THE JOYS. 😜

You could try pressing the lock button on the key twice.

This disables superlocking and ultrasonics from memory (check manual) and see if that stops it going off.

Yes its not very helpful but something easy in the absence of other idea's.

I wonder if it stores a fault code for what caused the alarm to go off. Considering my 1993 car did I would hope the answer is yes.
In which case you could get the codes read.

Yes, I'm seriously thinking of investing in a IID tool because from what I've read it's always good to have & I want to re calibrate and slightly lower ride hight, it's at 200mm at each corner but it's just a bit to high for me.

Hi puff, thanks for the link, when I went to investigate after alarm went off the sensor connector had already been removed and short circuit had been done so shouldn't that mean if alarm goes off after short circuit process it's not the bonnet sensor, I've taken sensor off anyways and give it a good clean and refitted the electrical plug so see what happens. 👍
