What is this cable in boot for?

I was cleaning some stuff from boot yesterday and at one point I opened small side cover. There is a cable line in white plastic, not attached anywhere.
I am wondering what is this thing for? Does it need to be attached somewhere or...?

Might be wrong but looks like fuel flap release cable to me.

Cheers

Thanks Col, it is on the correct side as fuel flap so could be. I did not try to pull, maybe I shall try later
