Hey guys, Im getting wheel balancing vibrations at 50 or above and when light breaking getting steering wheel shake. Also if I hit pot hole I get the shake through the steering wheel.

I have had 2 new bottom arms fitted with bush and ball joints 4x anti roll bar bush's, a new hub and 4 new tyres and am still getting this problem...and also wheels balanced.

Any ideas it's driving me crazy

Me too! Had everything done. I suspect steering rack as prone on the first model tdv6. Only just got car so want sorting.

Such and pain in the *** ain't they mate. Mines the tdv8 on a 57 but shes got a few miles now

It's been back and had turbo actuator, 2 tyres, front discs, alignment and balancing. Still there!

Have the same issues myself. Garage have tried everything to sort it. Suspension is fine. Rack is fine. Tracking and whelel balancing. Changed discs all round. EPB shoes. I think it's a sticky caliper myself but they said they are fine. Funnily though after the last time it was in I checked the wheel nuts a few were slightly loose. I tightened them up and did have a blast at the garage. Funnily about a week later I found 3 that had slightly loosened again. It's like a quater turn loose. Have ordered new wheel nuts.

These cars are nothing but headache's or at least mine is lol, I've noticed I have a bit of play in the steering wheel, which can be felt when going over bumpy terrain.. If anybody knows what it could be

currently going through the same, this only started happening after new brake pads where fitted.... following fitting I had a sticky caliper which cause dover heat. this weekend im changing discs and callipers. I will let you know how I get on.

My TDV8 is starting to feel loose in the steering too. I think it's getting ready for new struts (the ride is a bit brittle these days) and I'll probably throw new arms at it too. After 130,000 hard miles and nearly 9 years I think they're due a change. Although the front lower arms have been changed before I think a full set might be a good plan.

In your place, I'd start with a new set of lower front arms. They're the usual wear items at the front end.  2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I had all these issues after new pads were fitted,wheel vibration,sticking calliper etc.After 3k miles it seems to have sorted its self now,must of been a misshaped pad.By the way it's a 2006 2.7.

What I have found with mine is that the wheels are losing balance after a couple of weeks. Got them balanced 2 weeks ago and all vibrations gone. Now they are now going out of balance again. What would make them keep losing balance.

Same as ours was! Weve now lost patience with it and it has been rejected as not fit for purpose. Engine fault came back again after 2 weeks. Turbo, map, maf, csv all replaced and it still did it ! Most unreliable car we've owned! Won't be having another one! Back to defender td5 for us!

It sounds unlikely and it was the subject of many posts back in 08-09 however, my persistent front wheel wobble was eventually traced to the rear diff.

At the time, the car was under warranty. I had new tyres, new wheels, new discs, new pads, new steering rack, more wheels with more new tyres, an almost permanent attachment to the wheel balance machine and eventually a replacement car.

But the problem was eventually fixed with a new rear differential. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
