IID BT tool- How easy?

How simple are they to use? Familiar with ids and t4 plus numerous other diagnostic tools but wonder if it's possible to make a proper mes of the car configuration, or is it a bit safer than that?

It is an excellent tool which does miles more than be a code reader.
You can make errors, but as long as you have backed up it shouldn't be a problem, altering things such as the height of the suspension on different wheels for example, just ensure you keep a note of original settings, and what the vehicle range is.
I find it easy to use and I'm not a car mechanic, but had a T4 for my Rover 75 (wish I kept the T4. Rolling Eyes I quickly managed to turn on/off things that weren't done by default, which I think should have been. I've not heard a bad word about them on here, you can for a small fee alter the registration to cover a new car in the future which is always good to know, you get free updates, and other things are in pipeline for tuning etc I believe.

If you are coming to either of my locations I can show you it in use on my car. Smile John

England 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

To give you an example i was on a trip to the Alps skiing in January, when we exited the eurotunnel i had a restricted performance message on the dash and no power on the throttle. We pulled over at the first fuel stop after the tunnel, plugged the IID in and I Bluetooth to an iPad. Scanned and cleared the codes that i can only think was the tunnel bouncing us around in access mode that caused it and all was well!

Can you imagine if i had to wait for landrover assist before my 10 Hour drive!!

It was worth the cost alone just for my one occasion Thumbs Up 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

The IID is very easy to use and the safest thing around. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

GAP Diagnostics transferred my IIDTool BT from L320 to L494 for free. Transfer to a new owner however is chargeable (25 IIRC which is very reasonable). While I find it doesn't do as much for L494 (yet) as it used to do for L320, it is still a great piece of kit. In addition to what others have said, the aftersales support from GAP is brilliant. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

IIDTool is excellent. I have the older non-BT version and it's still extremely useful. Last week I disabled the auto wiper function, for example. This means I now have a proper intermittent wiper control that I can set as I wish. I hate auto wipers so it has been a pleasure getting rid of them. Simple adjustment in the CCF and off you go.

After sale support from GAP is first rate. If only GAP made Land Rovers... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

The standard IID is great, but the BT makes it so much easier to use and the ability to view multiple live values together, and graph them, and to save/email fault codes at the press of the button is well worth having. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
