Fitting a new DRM module on TDV8

Has anyone had experience replacing the Dynamic Response Control Module on a TDV8 (part no NNW508200)?

I understand this is located somewhere behind dash on driver's side, but have no idea how to get to it or what is involved.

Any help much appreicated as have been quoted £650 for the job by an indy garage and see part can be had for circa £200.

Many thanks
Ian

I could be wrong here but I thought it was on the passengers side behind the kick panel by the lower glove box.

Apparently it's always on the Drivers Side, must have been looking at a LHD. Embarassed

Cheers
Col

How do you propose programming it to talk to the car?

I don't think it is just a case of unplug old, plug in new... May be wrong! 5.0 Ltr Superchrged RRS2, Chile Red, Sideways out of junctions!
TDV8 HST Stornaway on a 08.. remapped.. now gone and replaced, was a mighty fine car..
4.2 SC First Edition when they first came out, quick car!

The module is on the driver's A pillar behind the instrument panel. Access it through the foot well by removing the two panels. One pulls off, the other has a couple of screws and a clip from memory. Move the seat fully rearwards to help access. You can see the module by getting your head down in the pedals. Note: the air suspension module lives in the same location. The air suspension module has 4 connectors, the DRM only 2 connectors.

The module has two tunes (maps) on it - one for the TDV6 / petrol engines and one for the TDV8. I think this is because of the weight of the TDV8 engine compared to the other two. You need to select the correct tune in the config file. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Many thanks RRSTDV8. Sorry to trouble you further, but how easy is it to do the setting once installed? Do I need any special equipment?

Not sure whether something like an IID Tool would set it up or whether you need a Land Rover box to do it. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
